How to choose the right venue for your exhibition

Friday 15th March 2024

Are you hoping to make a big impact with an exhibition or trade show? Whether you’re showcasing innovative products within a certain market, building sector-specific communities, or planning to put your brand at the forefront of your industry, one of the most critical decisions you’ll make when planning a successful exhibition event is selecting the perfect venue. After all, your venue sets the stage for your event, influencing attendee experience, exhibitor satisfaction, and overall commercial success.

At Victoria Warehouse, we understand the significance of this decision, which is why our friendly and experienced event team is here to guide you through the process. Our versatile event spaces make the perfect blank canvas for all kinds of exhibitions and events. From professional services to food & drink and fashion, we’re proud to have hosted a wide range of incredible consumer exhibitions and trade shows.

Here’s what you need to consider when choosing the right venue for your exhibition…

Versatile event spaces

The versatility of event spaces is essential to consider when selecting a venue for your exhibition, as they offer flexibility in layout, capacity, and amenities. With the ability to accommodate various setups and attendee numbers, these spaces empower organisers to create diverse and engaging experiences. We’re proud to be hosting a conference for In House Recruitment (IHR), the largest community for in-house recruitment. This event will feature four stages, workshops, street food stalls, and over 30 exhibitor stands. The show will be taking place for the 6th year at Victoria Warehouse, with record attendee numbers expected from all over the UK.

At Victoria Warehouse, we have spaces like The Cotton Sheds, allowing you to spread your stalls and demonstrations over 4,000 m2. Planning an exclusive exhibit? Consider the industrial backdrop of The Cellars or The Archives.  Whichever space you choose, your audience can soak in the atmosphere with bars, on-site catering, and state-of-the-art technology.

State-of-the-art facilities

In today’s digital age, technology plays an integral part in the success of exhibitions. From audiovisual equipment to high-speed internet connectivity, access to state-of-the-art facilities is essential to ensure a seamless experience for exhibitors and attendees. At Victoria Warehouse, our experienced technical partners are on hand to provide assistance with ideas, implementation, setup and troubleshooting, allowing you to focus on delivering an unforgettable day for your delegates.

Connective3’s Up North Marketing Festival involved required high-tech production, AV and stage set-up – using a full range of spaces and facilities for their two stages, 24 speakers and 400 delegates. They chose Victoria Warehouse to ensure a smooth-running experience, with the show returning for a second year this summer.

Location matters

When it comes to hosting an exhibition or corporate event, the location of the venue plays a pivotal role. Accessibility and convenience are key factors to consider for ensuring maximum attendance, especially for trade shows when delegates are most likely travelling from afar. Our location, in Manchester, means the venue features excellent public transport connections, so your attendees and exhibitors can get here with ease.

The AWS Community Summit by Consum have hosted global audiences here at Victoria Warehouse for three years in a row. Their show takes over The Archives and The Cellars in 2024, with over 25 talks, multiple workshops across a one-day event.

Exceptional service

Beyond the physical attributes of the venue, the level of service provided can make a significant difference to the overall success of your exhibition. At Victoria Warehouse, our dedicated events team is committed to delivering exceptional service from the initial planning stages through to the execution of your event. Whether you need assistance with logistics, catering, or onsite support, our experienced professionals are here to ensure that every aspect of your exhibition exceeds expectations.

Many of the people we work with are so pleased that they return for subsequent events, including Mortgage Advisor Event, the region’s biggest mortgage expo, which will be returning to Victoria Warehouse for a fourth year in 2024, taking over The Cotton Sheds with two stages, over 50 exhibitor stands, plus a variety of street food stalls.

Choosing the right venue for your exhibition is a decision that can make or break the success of your event. By considering factors such as location, versatility, facilities, and service, you can ensure that your exhibition leaves a lasting impression on attendees and exhibitors alike.

Over the past 10 years, as well as trade shows, we’ve been very lucky to host such a wide range of consumer exhibitions, including The Manchester Stationery Show, Cup North Coffee Festival, Brides Up North Wedding Show and coming up this summer, Hair Con.

Victoria Warehouse provides the flexibility to accommodate exhibitions of all sizes and formats. Whether you’re planning a trade show, art exhibition, or product launch, our adaptable spaces can be transformed to bring your vision to life.
