Sustainability matters to us, which is why we’re delighted to have recently been awarded the Greengage ECOsmart Hotels and Venues Accreditation.
ECOsmart is the leading accreditation system for hotels, events and meeting venues, plus event agencies and travel management companies. It is increasingly recognised as the credible and affordable marque that organisations display to demonstrate their commitment to environmental sustainability and achievement of recognised standards.
We believe in achieving sustainable growth in a sustainable way. This industry-leading accreditation confirms our commitment to being an eco-friendly and sustainable venue.
Our sustainability lead, Eve, appointed last year, continually implements initiatives across different departments, ensuring we are working as effectively and eco-friendly as possible to create a greener future. This includes…
Food & Beverage
We always keep sustainability in mind when it comes to catering. We adopt food and beverage practices that support a sustainable approach and add to guest choice and experience, such as vegetarian and vegan meal options using locally sourced produce. We also support local suppliers and minimise food miles, using recyclable packaging and cleaning materials.
We are proud to advise clients on how to cater for particular events, for example, making recommendations around canapés during a networking reception and street food post-conference. Our chefs have a wide range of plant-based menu options should event organisers wish to go fully ‘green’ for their event.
Waste Management & Recycling
Sustainable practices such as limiting the amount of waste generated onsite and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill can be achieved by recycling. We are proud to regularly train event teams on how to maintain recycling policies at each event and best maximise our waste management systems.
In addition, measures such as eliminating single-use plastics, embedding recycling processes and using eco-friendly cleaning products. For conferences, we no longer offer any single-use items such as notepads and pens; we only use recyclable cups and containers for serving food and drink. Working with clients on key points and gathering finer details on numbers close to the event taking place also means preventing waste on the day.
Corporate & Social Responsibility
Having an environmental sustainability plan in place to engage and educate venue teams is supported by proactive engagement with our local community. We work closely with Trafford Council on projects, attending sessions about the area’s development, and our sales team regularly go to networking events with other local businesses.
From event enquiry to delivery, we advise clients on using local businesses for their event solutions such as signage, lighting, décor, or entertainment. We’re proud to be a part of the events industry eco-system, sharing support for one another and working collaboratively to support the growth of the sector.
