The Natalie Kate Moss Trust was set up in 2012 by the Moss family, following the sudden death of Natalie at the age of 26 after an unexpected brain haemorrhage. The charity’s mission is to empower people to understand how to prevent lifestyle-related brain haemorrhages from occurring, as well as to generate funds that support groundbreaking research to treat them.
Natalie Kate Moss came to us via Saving Grace Events to host a spectacular fundraising dinner.
The client: Natalie Kate Moss Trust
The agent: Saving Grace Events
The event space: The Tobacco Stores
The concept
This engaging fundraising evening was themed around Alice in Wonderland’s ‘Through the Looking Glass’, conveyed by the decor of the space, the event production and the entertainment.
The brief
The venue brief involved transforming our newest event space, The Tobacco Stores into a magical wonderland for an enchanting and theatrical dinner for just over 200 guests. We worked closely with the Saving Grace Events team to bring their vision and ideas to reality, allowing creativity to flow, and advising how best to use the event space. The agency team worked with a range of different suppliers to craft a seamless and spectacular experience for guests from across the North West.
The experience
Guests were welcomed into Victoria Warehouse by Alice in Wonderland characters on stilts, before being handed drinks by a live wall of hidden hands in hedges.
After enjoying live music by String Infusion, guests were seated for a meal, during which Jenny Powell hosted a variety of fundraising opportunities and games.
The two-course dinner featured chicken liver parfait and miso glazed aubergine, as well as beef feather blade and ras el hangout cauliflower steak.
After dinner, guests enjoyed sweet treats at the ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ table, before the after-party started, and people flocked to the dancefloor.
Throughout the evening, characters like Alice, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, mirror ball bunnies, and a Cheshire Cat contortionist interacted with guests.
For another surprise, hidden draped areas around the event space contained the likes of a giant chess set and a tarot card reader.
Why Victoria Warehouse?
The Tobacco Stores at Victoria Warehouse was chosen as the perfect event venue because it is a blank canvas with a lot of personality and scope for ideas. This allowed specialist event planners Saving Grace Events to transform the space into an immersive and truly memorable fundraiser.
The Verdict?
The event raised over £48,000 and was a huge success, generating positive feedback from guests and the Natalie Kate Moss Trust alike.
“The team at Victoria Warehouse were super helpful throughout the process of planning the event, as well as on the event day. They go above and beyond, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.” – Georgie Higson-Smith, Events Manager for Saving Grace Events
