With party season fast approaching, small to medium-sized venues are particularly in demand at this time of year. If you’re planning an event in Manchester for 400 people or less, The Archives, The Cellars, and The Bays are great options to explore.
The Archives
With a maximum capacity of 350, The Archives is a beautifully refurbished, urbanised basement. Capturing Manchester’s industrial charm, stripped-back brickwork and statement flooring offer an unconventional setting. The Archives has been home to many private and corporate events, for the likes of Penguin Books, TikTok, Sky Sports, and AB InBev.
The Cellars
With a maximum capacity of 250, The Cellars has hosted events for brands including Connective3, JD Sports, and Kellogg’s. Step down into the basement for inspired decor that transports guests into a world of industry and travel. The Cellars sits beside The Archives, and the two can be used simultaneously for those wishing to break their event into two different spaces. Unveiled in 2016, both The Cellars and The Archives also feature built-in colour-changing column lights.
The Bays
Our most popular event space, The Bays has a capacity of up to 400, making it ideal for many types of events, from conferences and product launches to Christmas parties.
Built in 1932 for cotton stock, and later storage for Kellogg’s, McVitie’s and Cadbury’s, The Bays’ rich history and interesting architecture creates an ideal space for corporate and showcase events. Brands such as Adidas, GHD, and Manchester United have all hosted events in The Bays.
The Bays also make a stunning and unconventional venue for weddings. The space’s industrial pillars and original brickwork have been lovingly restored to reveal a striking backdrop across two rooms.
The industrial edge and exposed brickwork of these spaces make them popular choices for filming locations and photoshoots.
