With the past 2 years being incredibly difficult for all, and affecting hospitality and events venues across the world, we are grateful to be back doing what we love. Victoria Warehouse took precautionary measures and finally we were able to reopen fully in August. With this announcement we hosted a range of events and were thrilled to have welcomed so many groups.
UEFA:
One of the biggest events held at Victoria Warehouse was the UEFA Women’s Euro Draw which was televised by the BBC. We transformed the Cotton Sheds into a TV Studio with space for a live studio audience, and the stage fully lit for the presenters and special guests. The draw even included performances from Ellie Goulding and Ella Henderson and was hosted by none other than former professional footballer Alex Scott MBE and international rhythmic gymnast Gabby Logan MBE. We were so proud to have played host to such an important event that gave women’s football a big platform.
Product Launches:
We welcomed the extremely famous Harley Davidson to launch their brand new Sportster S where they took over the Bays and showcased a wide range of their well-known products. They also even invited influencers down to give the new Sportster S a road test. Swan Appliances set up their very own F.R.I.E.N.D.S apartment in our cellars, complete with Monica’s kitchen, sofa area and the famous peephole door. They used the set to showcase their products for Black Friday, live-streaming the event on their social channels. We loved this unique way to promote their appliances and were happy to have hosted them.
Book Tours:
With live events back we also welcomed author James Smith on his ‘Not Another Life Coach’ book tour. James is a Sunday Times bestselling author, with masses of fans around the world. It was very exciting to have him and 1,600 attendees in our bays discussing his philosophy of taking back control of life and asking yourself if you’re on the right path to success, happiness and fulfilment.
Nuage 25:
Top party organisers and fine dining extraordinaires, Nuage 25 threw 2 events at Victoria Warehouse in the year 2021. The first was a Burning Man themed brunch, with a 3 course meal and entertainment, with the second being a Christmas brunch complete with winter themed decor and plenty of fun music. The two events were held in our Bays and were hugely successful, with the events being a staple in many people’s yearly calendar.
Drag Fest:
Drag Fest 2021 saw over 4,000 people arrive in our Cotton Sheds to celebrate the art of Drag. Talent performing included Todrick Hall, United Kingdolls, Frock Destroyers which saw RuPaul’s Drag Race UK stars entertaining crowds with music that made them popular. There were several meet and greet stations, lip sync and panel stages, merchandise stalls and many more. The whole event was a wonderful celebration.
Conferences and Meetings.
Conferences were very popular at our venue, with JD and Go Outdoors hosting a massive conference and awards in October. The event was held for 300 guests, with a Winter Wonderland theme and 300 guests in attendance. There was also a motivational speech from Kriss Akabusi MBE to inspire the attendees. Another conference held was Homes For Students, who are the UK’s largest independent student accommodation provider. They transformed the warehouse into a funfair-themed celebration with fire-breathers, stilt walkers and much more. The team at In-House Recruitment also held an exhibition and conference in our Cotton Sheds where they gave out industry knowledge and hosted meetings, exhibitor stalls and conferences. In November And Digital used our Cotton Sheds to host 1,155 guests for their first in-person event for 2 years! We were privileged to help them reconnect and share ideas. The Co-op hosted their property awards for 750 guests with a red-carpet, black tie dress code and a fun evening for all employees.
Weddings
We were so excited to go back to hosting weddings, with such a wide range of different types and styles of wedding at our venue. One of the most unique weddings was a Star-Wars themed day complete with lightsabers, Darth Vader and Storm-troopers and many decorations that reminded us of a galaxy far far away. We can’t wait to host many more weddings in 2022.
Christmas
We were excited to host Christmas 2021 due to the previous Christmas prohibiting parties from taking place. We hosted guests in our Skyhook with DJ’s, food and music – not to mention plenty of Christmas decorations and plenty of Prosecco! It was so nice for our staff to get back into the Christmas spirit and contribute to many peoples first Christmas do in 2 years!
Bring on 2022…
We couldn’t be more ready for what 2022 has to bring, as the fun we’ve had putting on the wide range of events in 2021 – some of which have been a year in the making – has been incredible. In 2022 we hope to put on even more fantastic events, working with innovative brands and groups to make their events at our venue the best they can be.
